At first I tried Low-Fat. I weighed 260 pounds when I begin low-fat eating in July of 1997 and was successful in taking off about 80 to 85 pounds but was unable to maintain the loss. While I was on low fat, I was irritable, fatigued, sleepy and ravenous. After regaining about 45 pounds of that weight I discovered Low-Carb. Within a week all my symptoms had disappeared and I felt fantastic. Best of all I was NOT hungry anymore. I have enjoyed it so immensely that I have decided to remain on Low-Carb permanently as a means of weight maintenance. So the series of pictures below begin with me at my low-fat lowest, then show my weight regain then there is a gap in the middle where I reached a max of 225 pounds and then begin to lose it again. The pictures resume with me at 197 pounds after I had lost 27 pounds. Those which follow afterwards show the weight coming off slowly with Low-Carb.

02-05-98 Down 75 pounds on Low-Fat - weighing 180 pounds. 07-05-98 Down 85 pounds - weighing 170 pounds. Thanksgiving 1998 - Back up 20 pounds - weighing 190. 12-25-98 Back up 25 pounds - weighing 195.
Feb 5th 1998. Down 75 pounds to 180 in 7 months on Low-Fat. July 5th 1998. Down 85 pounds to 170 in twelve months on Low-Fat. Nov 28th 1998. Back up 20 pounds to 190 in 5 months. 3rd Month off of Low-Fat. Dec 25th 1998. Back up 25 pounds to 195 in 6 months. 4th month off of Low-Fat.
8-28-99  Low carb loss of 37 pounds - weighing 197 pounds. Sept 05, 1999 Low-Carb loss of 28 pounds - weighing 196. 11-7-99 down 39 pounds - weighing 185 11-25-99 down 41 pounds - weighing 183.
Aug 28th 1999. Down 27 pounds to 197 in just 10 weeks on Low-Carb. Sept 5th 1999. Down 28 pounds to 196 in just 11 weeks on Low-Carb. Nov 7th 1999. Down 39 pounds to 185 in 5 months on Low-Carb. Nov 25th 1999. Down 41 pounds to 183 in 5 1/2 months on Low-Carb.
12-25-99 down 46 pounds - weighing 178. 4-22-00 down 61 pounds - weighing 163. August 2000 down 63 pounds - weighing 160. November 2000, Down 64 pounds to 160.
Dec 25th 1999. Down 46 pounds to 178 in 6 1/2 months on Low-Carb. April 22nd 2000. Down 61 pounds to 163 in 10 months on Low-Carb. August 2000. Down 63 pounds to 161 in 14 months on Low-Carb. November 2000. Down 64 pounds to 160 in 17 months on Low-Carb.
